Spiderweb Dip

A Spiderweb Dip is a fun and spooky appetizer perfect for Halloween parties. This recipe combines a creamy spinach and artichoke dip with a decorative spiderweb design made from sour cream. Here’s how to make it:

Ingredients:

For the Spinach and Artichoke Dip:

  • 1 (10-ounce) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
  • 1 (14-ounce) can artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

For the Spiderweb Design:

  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1-2 tablespoons milk
  • Black food coloring or gel

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Spinach and Artichoke Dip:

a. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

b. In a mixing bowl, combine the thawed and drained chopped spinach, chopped artichoke hearts, grated Parmesan cheese, shredded mozzarella cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

2. Bake the Dip:

a. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish or a cast-iron skillet.

b. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the dip is hot and bubbly, and the top is lightly browned.

3. Make the Spiderweb Design:

a. While the dip is baking, prepare the spiderweb design. In a small bowl, mix 1/2 cup of sour cream with 1-2 tablespoons of milk to achieve a drizzling consistency.

b. Add black food coloring or gel to the sour cream mixture and stir until it reaches the desired color. You can add more milk if needed to achieve the right consistency.

4. Decorate the Dip:

a. Once the dip is out of the oven and slightly cooled, use a piping bag or a small plastic sandwich bag with a tiny corner cut off to drizzle the black sour cream mixture over the top of the dip in a spiderweb pattern.

b. Start with a small dot in the center, and then create concentric circles around it. Use a toothpick or skewer to drag lines from the center outward to create the web pattern.

5. Serve:

a. Place the Spiderweb Dip on a serving platter.

b. Serve it with tortilla chips, crackers, or bread for dipping.

Enjoy your spooky Spiderweb Dip at your Halloween party! It’s not only delicious but also a fun and decorative addition to your Halloween spread.
