Ingredients:

  • 1 lb thinly sliced lamb or chicken
  • 4-6 pita bread rounds
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cucumber, peeled, seeded, and grated
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Sliced tomatoes, onions, and lettuce for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Tzatziki Sauce: In a bowl, combine Greek yogurt, minced garlic, grated cucumber, lemon juice, olive oil, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix well and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

  3. Warm the Pita Bread: Heat the pita bread rounds in a skillet or microwave until warm and pliable.
  4. Assemble the Gyro Wraps: Spread a generous amount of tzatziki sauce on each warm pita bread round. Top with slices of cooked meat, sliced tomatoes, onions, and lettuce.
