  • 2-3 teaspoons granulated sugar, honey, or sweetener of choice (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 3-4 green cardamom pods, crushed
  • 3-4 whole cloves
  • 1 small piece of fresh ginger (about 1 inch or 2.5 cm), sliced
  • A pinch of black pepper
  • A pinch of ground nutmeg (optional)
  • Whipped cream, cinnamon, or ground nutmeg for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Spiced Chai Concentrate:
    • In a small saucepan, combine the water, black tea, cinnamon stick, crushed cardamom pods, whole cloves, sliced ginger, black pepper, and optional ground nutmeg.
    • Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 5-7 minutes to infuse the flavors.
  2. Add Milk and Sweetener:
    • Add the milk of your choice to the saucepan and stir well. Continue to simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes, being careful not to let it boil over.
    • Add your preferred sweetener, adjusting the amount to suit your taste. Stir until the sweetener dissolves.
  3. Strain and Serve:
    • Remove the saucepan from the heat and strain the Chai Latte concentrate into a cup or mug, discarding the tea leaves and spices.
  4. Garnish and Enjoy:
    • If desired, top your Chai Latte with whipped cream, a sprinkle of cinnamon, or a pinch of ground nutmeg.
    • Stir gently, and savor the comforting blend of spiced tea and creamy milk.
  5. Serve Hot:
    • Your Chai Latte is ready to be enjoyed as a soothing and flavorful indulgence.
